HyperMapping with Hyperspectral Precise Pointing Optical Sensor (HYPPOS) for Decadal Survey Mission Pathfinder Activities
Description
This work uses HyperMapping techniques on Hyperspectral Precise Pointing Optical Sensor (HYPPOS) data for Decadal Survey Mission Pathfinder Activities. The effort is developing AI tools using Google GPUs and NVIDIA TPUs with thermal imagery to enable curiosity-driven remote sensing of hyperspectral features using an optical pointing hyperspectral spectrometer component.
Detailed example
Predictions
AI / analytics pattern
Classical/Predictive Machine Learning: Models trained on data to make predictions or classifications based on identified patterns or relationships.
Automation level / stage
a) Pre-deployment – The use case is in a development or acquisition status.
Expected benefit
Twin experiments with archived thermal and hyperspectral imagery are being used to develop and test novel AI pointing algorithms.
